Myabetes™ How to Guide

If Bluetooth is enabled on your phone, your glucometer will automatically pair with your phone.

If your glucometer is not listed under Settings > My Devices, follow these steps to pair it:

  1. Open the Myabetes application.
  2. In your phone's settings, enable Airplane mode. Wait 5 seconds and then disable Airplane mode. This will restart Bluetooth and WiFi adapters.
  3. Ensure that Bluetooth is switched on in the System Bluetooth settings.
  4. Turn the glucometer off then on.
  5. If it still does not pair, you can pair it manually.

To pair manually, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > My Devices.
  2. Tap Add New, then tap Manually.
  3. Select the device and tap Add to My Devices.

  1. In the app, go to Settings > My Profile.
  2. Tap the arrow for Profile.
  3. Enter the new information.
  4. Tap on the screen outside the keyboard to hide the keyboard, if necessary.
  5. Tap Update to save the information.

  1. In the app, go to the Home screen and tap the Upgrade button in the upper left corner.
  2. Tap the Learn More button to navigate to a page that describes what is included in each plan.
  3. Choose your payment cycle and plan level, then tap Get Started to start the online order process.

  1. In the app, go to Settings > Thresholds.
  2. Tap the min and/or max level to edit.
  3. Enter the new level.
  4. Tap on the screen outside the keyboard to hide the keyboard.
  5. Tap Save.

  1. In the app, go to Settings > Thresholds.
  2. Tap the desired notifications (push and/or email).
  3. Tap Save.

  1. In the app, go to Settings > App Settings > Glucose Scale.
  2. If choosing a preset scale, tap the desired preset scale item.
  3. If setting a custom scale, tap on Custom, then tap the Pen icon in the upper right.
  4. Choose to set the Normal zone limits for Before Meal and/or After Meal measurements. (Tap on the screen outside of the keyboard to hide the keyboard.)
  5. After the data is updated, tap Save.
  6. Tap the Select button at the bottom of the screen or if it already says "Selected", just exit the screen.

  1. In the app, go to the Home screen, and tap the readings section of the Myabetes Dashboard.
  2. Tap the reading to delete.
  3. Tap the Bin icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
  4. Tap Yes to delete the measurement.

This is only available for measurements that have been manually entered in the app.

  1. In the app, go to the Home screen, and tap the readings section of the Myabetes Dashboard.
  2. Tap the reading to edit.
  3. Tap the Pen icon.
  4. Tap the data element you want to change.
  5. After changes are made, tap Update.

Enter retrospective data (i.e. measurement data from the past) by manually adding a new measurement and then changing the date of that measurement to the correct date and time in the past.

  1. In the app, go to the Home screen, and tap the "+" icon
  2. Use the sliding scale to select the value.
  3. Tap the calendar to change the date. Then Tap OK.
  4. Tap the time value to change the time. Then Tap OK.
  5. Tap the feeling if desired.
  6. Tap meals to enter in specific information on meals.
  7. Tap Notes to enter any notes. Then tap on the screen outside the keyboard to hide the keyboard.
  8. Tap Save and your measurement will be saved with specified information.

  1. In the app, go to Settings > App Settings > Units.
  2. Choose either mg/dl or mmol/L.

  1. In the app, go to the Export screen.
  2. Choose the desired Time Interval. In case of a Custom time interval, tap Custom and enter the desired dates.
  3. Choose the desired Format, scrolling to find it, if necessary.
  4. Tap the Export button.
  5. Enter the email address(es) and tap the button to send the data via email to the specified recipients.

Yes. If you have signed up for Myabetes Gold or Myabetes Platinum, Registered Nurses assigned to you will be able to view your information in our Nurses’ Portal, a Myabetes companion application for nurses.

Your glucose reading information is automatically pushed to the Nurses’ Portal, and nurses have acute alert threshold limits for you that will notify them of any readings outside the limits of 60-250 mg/dl. For those with Myabetes Platinum, when an acute alert is triggered, Registered Nurses will attempt to reach out to you by phone to ensure that you are okay.
